5.2. Add Aircraft

Use `Add Aircraft` to create a new aircraft from a registration/callsign search or from the model list.

Start

1. Open `Aircraft`.
2. Press `New`.
3. Choose `Search by Callsign` or `Browse All Models`.
   

Search by Callsign

1. Select the `Registration Prefix`.
2. Enter the `Registration Suffix`.
3. Press `Search`.
4. Select the matching Type from the results.
   

Browse All Models

1. Select the `Registration Prefix`.
2. Enter the `Registration Suffix`.
3. Use `Search Models` to filter the model list.
4. Press `Load Models` if the full model list has not loaded.
5. Select the correct Type.
   

Setup Steps

• `Find` selects the aircraft Type and registration.
• `Required Fields` collects fields needed for route, fuel, and loading calculations.
• `Basic` checks Type, ICAO, description, performance category, wake turbulence, and POH URL.
• `Units` checks weight, fuel, arm, fuel type, specific gravity, and fuel cost units.
• `Weights` checks MTOW, MLW, MZFW, and Max Ramp.
• `Aircraft` checks callsign, registration, and individual aircraft details.
• `W&B`, `Loading`, and `Fuel Tanks` appear when Weight & Balance is enabled.
• `Basic Perf` and `Perf Profiles` handle basic and advanced performance data.
• `Photo` adds an aircraft image.
• `Review` shows the final details before creation.
  

Create

1. Use `Next` and `Back` to review each setup step.
2. Complete required fields.
3. Press `Create Aircraft`.
4. Confirm the aircraft appears in the aircraft list.
   

*Use `In a hurry?` to move quickly through setup after selecting the Type. You can edit the aircraft and Type details later.

!The final step reminds you to enable `Sync Aircraft` on your AvPlan devices. This must be enabled on the device before the aircraft will appear there.
