NAIPS survival equipment changing

On the 9th of September 2021 the method of specifying survival equipment in a flight plan is changing. Currently, when submitting a flight notification you can specify the following equipment types;

  • First aid
  • Water
  • Rations

Come the 9th of September 2021, this is changing to be the ICAO aligned options of

  • Jungle
  • Maritime
  • Desert
  • Polar

To prepare for the change you can update your aircraft defaults with these new options (Settings, Aircraft Type Database, Your Type, Your Callsign). Come the 9th of September the old options will be silently ignored and the new options should be sent.

You need to have installed at least AvPlan EFB 8.1.9 to support the new survival equipment options. More information about this change can be found in the relevant AIC at https://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/sup/a21-h28.pdf
